Pepper Alley

a bit about us....

Pepper Alley was founded a couple of years ago, following a fruitless search for a gold leather tote.

Loving simply styled leather bags in beautiful colours, I was unable to find anything suitable. Turning to a friend with a small leather workshop, I explained my idea with a simple sketch and couple of bullet points. And so the Clemmie tote was born!

Subsequently I’ve designed other items - a clutch bag, wristlet purse, pencil case and keyring - all of which sit comfortably inside the Clemmie, as well as working as stand-alone pieces. And recently I've bought a hot foiling machine, so I now offer product personalisation, too.

I source leather from Italy, choosing ‘neutral’ colours that can be easily paired with other colour combination. Because leather’s a natural product and I buy in small quantities, it means the colour or finish of a product can differ slightly to the Pepper Alley shop photograph; however, I always ensure colours and finishes are as consistent as possible.

The workshop continues to make all Pepper Alley products, cutting the leather by hand and piecing them together on sewing machines. I add any personalisation.

My emphasis throughout has been on creating simple designs - and I use material, colour and texture to create a point of difference. And the quality extends to the bag's interior, as I buy all lining fabrics in London's West End, from Liberty on Regent Street, and the fabric shops on Berwick Street in Soho.

Enjoy shopping in my store.
